J. Common of Coldstreem Mahogany Longcase Clock

Description   Longcase clock by James Common of Coldstream with a fully overhauled 8 day mechanism which strikes the hours on a bell. The brass dial has the makers name inscribed on it. The clock also retains a working date wheel and the original steel hands. The mechanism is housed in a later mahaogany case which has clearly been made for this clock. The case has Corinthian pillars to the hood and a glass lenticle on the trunk door to allow viewing of the pendulum.
